At Skinara Microbiome Labs, we know the future of skincare is at the microscopic level. We began as a microbiome laboratory, specializing in the biological foundations of skin health. Our work focuses on understanding how microbial balance, barrier integrity, and cellular function contribute to sensitivity, resilience, and long-term skin vitality. For us microbial synergy is non-negotiable—disrupting it can lead to dysbiosis, flare-ups or chronic conditions. These principles guide every formulation we create and every skin therapy we design, ensuring our products work in harmony with the skin’s biology to support healthy skin of all ages, and especially for sensitive and pediatric skin.

For skincare to be truly great, it has to be proven on real people, in the real world. That’s why at Skinara evidence is the heart of everything we do. We collaborate with external research partners to clinically validate our formulations—ensuring they’re safe, effective, and biologically aligned. Each product is tested in several ways; in silico, in vitro and in vivo with diverse panels. Our clinical panels including sensitive and pediatric skin profiles, are used to confirm real-world performance on human volunteers under dermatological supervision. Our testing panels include dermatologists, pediatric skin experts and researchers—ensuring our products meet the highest standards of care. 2014
The Science Beneath The Surface
We started our journey as a microbiome research lab, not as a brand but as a question: How can we map skin health across age, ethnicity, climate and hormonal states, starting from infancy through childhood, into puberty, pregnancy and aging? We are all scientists. Our journey began with curiosity and a shared pursuit of answers through microbiome science, systems biology, and precision ingredients.
2016
From Lab to Life
Our research revealed the skin microbiome as a living, responsive ecosystem that influences reactivity, resilience, and appearance. Skin health reflects what’s happening beneath the surface. Through scientific collaboration, we built expertise in understanding how microbial communities interact with skin and ingredient chemistry.
2017
Ingredients Integrity
Our research showed that conventional skincare often relies on ingredient overload. Ingredients interact chemically, biologically, and ecologically—and excessive actives can disrupt the skin microbiome and weaken the barrier. More is not better. We formulate using clinical principles, selecting ingredients for synergistic behavior, biological alignment, safety, and long-term skin resilience.
2019
Skinara Inception
We believe great skin starts with deeply understanding it. This belief sparked the inception of Skinara, to advance skin analysis through skin swab insights alongside holistic skin research, delivering data beyond traditional cosmetics. This dynamic, biologically aligned approach defines our Gold Standard in Skin Health, with an initial focus on sensitive skin and proactive skin care formulation.
2021
Exceeding the Standards
We identified a gap in sunscreen performance: long-term UVA exposure is often underestimated. As UV intensity rises, cumulative UVA damage contributes to pigmentation, premature aging, and reduced skin resilience. This led us to create a sunscreen with up to 3× higher UVA protection than standard European formulas - designed to support long-term skin health and protection from silent, cumulative damage.
